Insurance/Underwriters surveys:

 We have extensive experience in conducting insurance related investigation surveys on behalf of major insurance companies and underwriters into claims for marine machinery damage and failures, hull damages, collisions etc. for a diverse list of vessel types from large ocean-going vessels such as tankers, bulk carriers, containers ships and ro-ro passenger vessels to pleasure boats, fishing vessels and small ferries. Experience in steel, aluminum and fibre glass structural repairs has been gained. Our reports form the nucleus of any insurance claim and are used by our clients to understand the nature of any claim with in-depth interpretations of technical details based on sound and extensive knowledge of the shipping industry reported upon in a concise format.

Project Management:

 We have extensive experience in the project management of ship conversions, re-flagging, refits and major machinery overhauls. We have a sound knowledge and in-depth experience in the overall supervision of vessel dry dockings, along with the preparation and implementation of technical specification documentation for approval by our clients.

Quality Management:

 We have experience in the implementing of a quality management system for the overseeing of the re-building and overhaul of five large 16-cylinder diesel engines for a local engineering company in Atlantic Canada.

Classification:

 We are currently the appointed classification society-equivalent surveyor for SNC Lavalin Defence Programs Inc., for hull and machinery surveys on naval auxiliary vessels under their management on behalf of the Department of National Defence.

Cargo Surveys:

We have extensive experience in carrying out (damage) surveys of containers and their contents; marine cargo surveys for damage and condition; supervision of cargo loading and discharging surveys; failure investigations for cargo underwriters.

Hull Damage Surveys:

We have a wealth of experience in conducting damage surveys of vessels’ hulls due to collision, structural failures to provide third parties with valued opinions as to how the failures occurred.

Machinery Failure & Damage Surveys:

We have built up an extensive file on marine diesel engine failures, with investigations conducted on behalf of marine underwriters. We have been used as a court expert in providing experience to marine lawyers in their quest to ascertain where cause lies.
